Pumpkin Patch!

Tonight we headed down the road and went to the pumpkin patch. I love this pumpkin patch, it's on 118th South and 3600 West. We have gone there the last three Octobers, since we moved to South Jordan and I love it. They have tractors for the kids to sit on and a corn maze and tons of pumpkins. We drive past the pumpkin patch quite often, so as soon as Jaxon could tell there were pumpkins growing in the field, he would tell me he wanted to go get pumpkins. Well, I knew tonight was going to be a little bit warmer than it had been the rest of the week, so we decided tonight was the night. The kids had so much fun sitting on the tractors and picking out their own special pumpkins. Brynn had a rough time walking because the ground was pretty uneven, but that didn't seem to bother her too much!

Brynn thought this tractor was pretty cool!

Aren't they cute!?
Not the best family picture, but we have to get a picture as a family every year when we pick pumpkins!
Jaxon picked this pumpkin out all on his own after looking for about one minute...not very patient!
Brynn liked this pumpkin, but we decided it would be the babies (Landon or Jordan...who knows!) and she got a little bit bigger one, but she couldn't hold it.
Jaxon loved all of the tractors, but was disappointed there wasn't a "picking up one" which I think is a loader?
Jaxon in front of the corn maze. He found that ear of corn on one of the tractors and would not let go of it. He really wanted to eat it, but we wouldn't let him and told him that it was the kind of corn that cows ate, so on the way home (yes he had to bring it home) he kept asking us if we were going to give it to the cows. What a silly boy!
Brynn did not want her picture taken by the corn maze, I think it freaked her out a little bit.
We came home and had hot chocolate and doughnuts. My kids never get doughnuts, their just something I don't usually buy, but I stopped at Macy's on the way home from the gym this morning and thought it would be a fun tradition to start having hot chocolate and doughnuts after picking pumpkins. Brynn was not at all impressed with the hot chocolate which really surprised me, but she quite liked the doughnut...surprise!
Jaxon also liked his doughnut, but unlike Brynn he liked his chocolate milk too, but he liked Jason's even more, out of a big mug!

Fruits & Vegetables

Lately Jaxon has been hungry all the time at night. He eats a full dinner then like an hour later he complains that he's hungry. At first I thought he was doing it to see if we would give him treats, well I didn't, I always gave him the choice of an apple or carrots. You would have thought I had told him he could eat all the ice cream he wanted, he was so excited about having an apple and carrots. Well, on this particular night, Brynn got his bowl of carrots. Now, with this little girl, it's not enough to have one in your mouth, no, no...she has to have one in each hand and one in her mouth! She is so funny.

Last night I made lasagna for dinner and we had broccoli as a vegetable. It had been a while since we had had broccoli for dinner (I don't know why) but my kids loved it! I think Brynn ate about 1/2 of all the broccoli I made and was pretty upset when it was all gone. The broccoli was the first thing Jaxon ate. Where do these kids come from? I am so glad I don't have to try to convince them to eat their fruits and veggies!

Here's Two More

I am so close to being done with Jaxon's book, I can almost taste it! I only have probably ten more pages and I am done...then I get to start on Brynn's.

Three more!

Well, I got three more pages done today. I don't really love all of them, and I must admit, I think I am just settling for less than I normally would, but I just really want to get them done, so I guess that's what I get. I am just glad they are getting done!

Conference Weekend

About five months ago, we bought 25 25lb bags of hard red wheat from the cannery and never had a chance to "can" it, so we decided this weekend would be perfect, we could do it while we listened to conference. We also had a bunch of other stuff we needed to get canned too. We didn't technically can it, we put it in the silver pouches and checked out the sealer from the cannery and did it that way. Anyway, we got it all done between the two sessions of conference and I must say, it's feels so good not to have to worry about it anymore! It was quite a mess, but Jaxon had a good time "helping" us. We did hard red wheat, flour, pinto beans, black beans, rice, salt and I think that's it. We ended up with 150 bags total! It's a good thing we have a big storage room! I don't know what was up with my camera, but it took really bad pictures...sorry!

Jaxon was such a big helper!

These two pictures above are the bags we did during the first session, we did just about as many during the second session too!
And I wondered why we had such a mess on the floor!
This is what Brynn was doing while we were doing our food storage. This is her new thing, she stands on top of things then waits until you look at her and starts laughing because she knows she's not supposed to do it! She's cute, but a little stink too!

Old Bear Lake Pictures

A couple of weekends ago we went up to the cabin in Bear Lake with the Duke's and the Humphery's. We had so much fun. The only pictures we took were while we were actually at the lake. It was a pretty cold and windy day and by the time we actually got to the lake the wind was blowing like crazy and it started to rain, so we were just going to turn around and go back to the cabin, but Jason and Chad started doing a little 4 wheeling on the beach. We haven't ever really taken our Excursion off road (not that the beach was that adventurous but...) so Jason wanted to see what it could do. It was pretty fun and Brynn loved it. She was laughing in the backseat whenever we would go over a big bump, it was cute!

Well, after the boys had there fun, the weather finally calmed down enough that we could get out and walk along the beach. The kids loved it. I told Jason not to let Jaxon get too wet, but before I knew it, his shorts were soaked, so he rode home naked! There was also a double rainbow that was really pretty too, it was a lot of fun. The kids love it whenever we take them to the lake.

Can you tell it was a little bright?

Brynn had a great time walking up and down the shore, luckily, she didn't try to get in the water!

Busy Day!

I finally got the other one to save correctly and I got another one finished. Pretty good for a crazy day of running around all day. I didn't go to the gym today (I usually don't on Tuesdays) but I had to run the sealer thing back to the cannery in Sandy and I had a doctor's appointment today too (everything's good). So that meant I had to get the kids dropped off and asleep and my sweet friend Kate's house (was it nice not to have my kids for once Cami?). Then my doctor is all the way at St. Marks, so it's like a 40 minute drive there and back. I had to clean my disgusting floor and clean my messy house.

By the time Jason got home, I was so exhausted and he could tell, so the sweet guy took the kids out of the house for and hour and a half so I could rest and do whatever I wanted. Well, I cleaned up dinner and toys then just relaxed, it was so nice! I have such a great husband! After getting the kids to bed and watching the debate, I sat down at the computer to answer a friends question and here it is an hour later and I have a finished page! Now, I guess it is time for me to go to bed, but I think I am going to post some pictures from this weekend...so there you have it!

Another One!

So, I actually did this one last night, but I just got around to posting it. I have another one finished, but I can't get it to save right though, maybe tomorrow!

Monday, October 6, 2008

Well, it's actually quite amazing I got a page done today because it has been a crazy day...but I did get one done! My kids actually slept in this morning...Jaxon until 7:15 and Brynn until 7:35, but of course, I couldn't sleep past 6:45. I laid in bed for a while, then decided I might as well get up and do something, so what did I choose to do? The dishes...no, clean my room up...no, get laundry started...no, I decided to do some scrapbooking! I got the pictures on the page then Jaxon woke up, so I quickly finished it now that the kids are napping...well Jaxon is in his room not napping, but I hope if I leave him in there long enough, he will fall asleep! So, there you have it.

Two More!

I got two more done tonight! I sent Jason to the store to pick up a couple of things and I got these done while he was gone (he takes forever at the store!). Five pages in two days...I am pretty impressed with myself. Let's see how long it lasts!

Scrapbooking Again!

Well, I FINALLY did two scrapbook pages! It has been forever since I've done one, but one of my friends was asking me questions about how to do certain things and it got me wanting to start up again. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new trend and I won't stop doing it in a week, but we'll see!

The Name War Continues

Ok, first of all, thanks to all of you for voting on my poll and even more thanks for picking Landon over Ammon! I think I have convinced Jason that Ammon is a not what we should name this child, but it wasn't easy!

He has now come up with a new name that I must admit I don't hate, but I think I still like Landon better. The name is Jordan...now I like the name Jordan, but my fear is that it has become more popular for girls in the last little while. I'm not sure why this a big deal, but it's my only argument against Jordan and for Landon.

So, if you would, take a couple of seconds and vote in my poll for which name you like better, or leave a comment and let me know...Thanks!

Look at My Grass!

So, if any of you have moved into a new house and have had to finish the backyard, you know how happy I am right now! We have grass in our backyard, yay! Jason has been working on this darn yard for a month and a half now and we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

You may look at it and think, "why is it taking him so long?" Well, if you had seen this yard when we moved in, you would know why. He had to do a ton of work. He had to level it out a ton because there was such a steep grade, that took a while, then it was terrible dirt, so we had to get some topsoil and he had to bring it back one wheelbarrow full at a time and let me tell you, we have a long driveway! He had to put in all the sprinklers and attatch them to the pipe in the front yard. On top of this, he has been working on the front and side yards laying bark and planting flowers. What a man, right?!

Obviously, there is still some work to be done, we are going to plant some flowers and trees and stuff, but I am just exicted about the grass! We hung out back there last night and the kids thought it was great! Thanks Jason for working so hard, you're the best!

Tagged (Sort of)

Ok, so I wasn't officially tagged, but sort or, Michelle put in her blog whoever else wants to do it, and since I've noticed most of my blog is about my cute kids, I figured it might not be a bad thing to post something about me, so here we go!

3 Joys:

Hearing my kids laugh really hard
Just spending time with my family
Sleeping well and sleeping in (this hasn't happened for a long time!)

3 Fears:

Something happening to me and not being able to raise my kids with Jason (not that he wouldn't do a good job, but...you know what I mean!)
Anything bad happening to my children
Hurting other people without realizing it

3 Goals:

Being able to adjust to three kids without too much trouble (only ten weeks to go!)
Looking like I did in college after I have this baby (I can dream right? Lia I might need some advice on this one!)
Spend more quality time with Jason and let him know how important he is to me

3 Current Obsessions:

Trying to keep my house clean most of the time (I'm doing pretty good!)
Decorating this house (You would think we have been in for a month and a half now that it would be done, but I still have a lot to hang on the walls!)
Reading/working out (I do these at the same time, so I figured they could go together!)

3 Surprising/Random Facts

I have never had any debt except for a car when we first got married that we paid off in three or four month and houses of course!
I am a little obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleaning and Jason has a love hate relationship with that quality of me!
Jason and I are never going to agree on a name for this baby, he wants Ammon :( and I want Landon :) I guess I shouldn't say never, we didn't agree on a name for Brynn until she was two and a half days old so there's hope, hope that I will win that is!

Ok, now I am supposed to tag other people so...I tag whoever wants to do this!

Put the Kitty Back in the Zoo

After church today we went to the community garden to pick all of our ripe tomatoes. While we were there we noticed for the first time about six apple trees by the garden, so Jason picked one for Jaxon thinking they would still be sour, but I tasted the apple and it was delicious. So, tonight after dinner, we took a walk to the apple trees to get a couple more apples.

There is a nice grassy area by the garden, so we sat for a while and ate our apples. Well, Jaxon decided to climb the hill by where we were which has tall grass and flowers covering the hill. Well, we got about 3/4 of the way up the hill when he froze in his tracks and started shouting, "An animal! An animal!" Jason jumped up as fast as he could because he was thinking it was something bad like a snake or something. Jaxon came down the hill and explained to us that it was a kitty cat.

By this point I was laughing so hard that I almost peed my pants (pregnancy bladder!). So, Jason decided to go up the hill to see what it really was that was up there and sure enough, it was a cat. After Jason came back down the hill Jaxon looked at us and said, "You need to call someone to come take the cat back to the zoo!"

I'm not sure if this story will be as funny to all of you as it is to me, but maybe you just had to be there because it was hilarious!

Picture Overload!

Ok, so I realize that I have been slacking a little bit when it comes to posting on here, and since I finally downloaded my pictures off of my camera, I thought I would share a bunch of pictures. I hope you don't get too bored! In June we went up to the cabin in Bear Lake with our fun friends Ben and Kate and their cute babies. We went to the lake one day and here are some pictures from there. It was Jason's brilliant idea to give Brynn an Oreo to keep her entertained while we were playing cards...what a mess, but isn't she cute!

Jaxon had a great time playing in the water. As long as he stayed in the shallow part it wasn't too terribly cold!

For the 4th of July we went back up to the cabin with some of Jason's family. At night we had a fire in the driveway and roasted marshmellows and made smores. Jaxon wasn't a big fan of the smores, but he sure loved the marshmellows. He liked the fireworks ok, but he wasn't a big fan of the ones that were loud. We had some sparklers left over so I asked him if he wanted to do more fireworks the next night and he said, "Yes, but not the noisy ones!"

Jaxon's birthday was on July 8th and I think I already posted about it, but here are the pictures finally! This was from the party we had with family on his real birthday. He loved his bike, but hasn't ridden it much since we've been so stinkin' busy!
This is his Buzz Lightyear cake. I know it's not much, but I'm not too creative, so I figured it was better than a boring old cake in a cake pan!
He also had a party with his friends a couple days after his birthday. We borrowed Jason's sisters' bounce house and water slide and they were a huge hit! Brynn stuck to the little wading pool and had fun.
Jaxon and his friend Lily liked to go down the slide holding hands, but one of them would always forget to wait for the other so they wouldn't go down at the same time...silly kids!

Jaxon got some pretty cool presents and had fun opening them. I'm not sure who was more excited for him to open this present, Jaxon or his friend Danny!
Bouncing and climbing up the waterslide works up quite an appetite in these little munchkins!
After we moved into our new house, we were eating dinner and afterward Jaxon wanted a popsicle. Well, that very day I had bought some sugar free popsicles at the store, so I gave the kids one each and I had one. They were pretty gross, but the kids ate them and look how happy they are!
Jaxon started preschool on August 5th. He was so excited! We had gone to an orientation thing the Friday before where he met the teacher and the kids and picked out a cubby and all that fun stuff. Well, I kept telling him he was going to go to school on Tuesday and have lots of fun etc. When Tuesday rolled around he was so excited, but he thought I was going to stay with him and he didn't like that idea. At breakfast we were talking about going to school and he said, "Mom, can I go by myself, I will just ride my bike." Now, I have to tell you, the school is about 10 minutes away in the car so it would be quite the bike ride, but he didn't understand this. I think he figured it I drove him to school, I would stay with him. Needless to say, he was releived when I gave him a hug and a kiss and let him go to school all by himself! What a big boy!
We love to go to Maverick and get their frozen yogurt (if you haven't tried it, it is delicious!), however, Jaxon prefers to get an Icee. So, the first couple of times he got one, he would let Brynn have a sip or two and she would get so mad when he took it back. Well, the last time we went there, Jaxon and Jason went inside and came out with Brynn's very own Icee. She was in heaven! I could hear her gulping it down, not stopping for anything because she thought we were going to take it away from her. I don't know how she didn't get a huge brain freeze!
Last weekend, we had the bounce house again and we needed to air it out, so we set it up in the driveway and Jaxon really wanted to bounce in it. It was right after we had eaten breakfast and before anyone had gotten dressed for the day, hence the reason Brynn's hair looks so crazy! Brynn had a great time bouncing and so did Jaxon!

Last Saturday I took the kids to Wheeler Farm while Jason cleaned out the garage (not fun I know, but now I can park in the garage, wahoo!) The kids had a good time. They had fun looking at the animals and Jaxon had fun feeing the ducks. We weren't able to stay too long because it was nap time and me and my pregnant brain forgot to put sunscreen on the kids! I want to go back when we have more time and when it's not so hot because it is pretty fun! I'm not sure why this us underlined, but oh well!

Jaxon also had a dentist appointment last week and did excellent! I have pictures, but they are on my phone, so I'm not going to put them on here! Our dentist is great and the one thing Jaxon really wanted to do was the squirt the water they squirt in your mouth all over the place, so the dentist said if Jaxon let him look in his mouth, when he was finished he would let him squirt the water, so Jaxon sat so still and was so good that he got to squirt the water all over the place and had a great time doing it! If anyone is looking for a good pediatric dentist, I highly recommend Nate Stevenson at Stevenson Pediatric Dentistry...he is awesome!

Well, that's what we have been up to for the last little while. I am headed off to St. George to visit my parents tomorrow until Sunday so that should be fun. Wish me luck on the drive though! Hopefully I will have two sleeping children most of the way!

Where Oh Where Could They Be?

Wonder what I am talking about, well my garbage cans of course! So, we have been in our house for a week now and still no garbage cans. Now, I am not talking about inside garbage cans, I am talking about the big outside garbage cans. Do you know how hard it is to live without those things?! Do you know how much trash you have after moving into a new house? It's not like I didn't do what I was supposed to, I just think the people at South Jordan City are not that bright! I went in on the 21st of July and filled out all the paperwork and told them even though it was an existing house, we needed garbage cans. Then, when we still hadn't seen them by the 29th, I called and they said we should have them in 24 hours. Well guess what, we still don't have them and I am a little frustrated about it if you can't tell!
