I'm Finally Doing It!

Ok, so about a month ago, Janene "tagged" me to post six little known facts about myself. It has taken me a while to get around to it, but here we go...

1. I am probably one of the most "frugal" people you will find. I found a message board that talks about "Deals & Steals" and since I've started reading that, I've gotten so much stuff for so little money. I got 80 bottles of Loreal Vive Pro shampoo and conditioner for FREE! Well, I did pay $3 for coupons and taxes, but I saved about $250. Yesterday I got twenty packs of toilet paper for FREE (I did pay $2 for coupons) and twenty tubes of toothpaste for $5 (paid $2 for coupons). So, if anyone ever needs any toothpaste, toilet paper or shampoo and conditioner, let me know!

2. I am a little compulsive about having a "clean" house. My house might not always be super duper clean, but most of the time it is presentable. Jason gets a little irritated with me sometimes because I have a hard time relaxing if my house isn't clean, so I have to pick up before we can relax for the night. I tell him he should be grateful for that, but he doesn't see it that way!

3. I do not like talking on the phone...at all! Jason calls me a phone-a-phobe because I don't like talking on the phone and try to get him to do it most of the time. It's a big deal if I talk to my mom more than once a week! It's not that I don't like keeping in touch with people, I just don't like talking on the phone, so if I haven't called you lately, now you know why!

4. I am addicted to digital scrapbooking! I love it. I never liked paper scrapbooking because I didn't like that when you glued something down, it was stuck, you couldn't change it. With digital scrapbooking, you can change things as much as you want. I spend way too much time scrapbooking on the computer, but I figure it's good for my kids to have it right?! I just got done with Jaxon's second year book and I am so happy with it! Speaking of scrapbooking, I should do some pages today!

5. I love reality TV. I thought I might grow out of this, but it hasn't happened. Ever since our first year of marriage, we got hooked on Survivor and now I have to watch it, no matter how dumb it is. I also love other dumb shows like Kid Nation, Kitchen Nightmares, Amazing Race, Big Brother and some other really dumb shows that I just can't live without! Please don't think any less of me!

6. I am totally not crafty, but would like to be! I look at some cute things that people make and wish I could do it, and I probably could, I guess I'm just not all that motivated to do it. I guess I should give it a try sometime!

Ok, that was kind of fun. I hope I didn't bore you to death. If you've read this and haven't done it yet, you're tagged, it's your turn! Have fun!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year! Jaxon was Mickey and Brynn was Minnie. I thought they were so cute! We actually got home from Disneyland on Halloween so the party just continued for Jaxon, he thought he was in heaven! Once he got the hang of trick-or-treating, he thought it was the greatest thing ever! The only problem was that he has a tendancy to just open people's doors and walk in, so we had to keep reminding him that we KNOCK and not just open doors!

We went around our neighborhood and it was so much fun to see our neighbors out with their kids having so much fun! I love where we live! Jaxon got a ton of candy, of course, his favorite were the suckers, he would pass up chocolate any day for a sucker!

I hope you could see the Mickey pumpkin Jason carved. We had just gotten back from Disneyland and were in the Disney spirit and our kids were Mickey & Minnie, so we figured we better have a Mickey pumpkin. Isn't he creative!

Toon Town

Jaxon had a great time in Toon Town. He loved playing at Goofy's house, but his favorite ride was the roller coaster in Toon Town. I was worried that he might be afraid of it, but he wasn't scared at all, in fact, he made both Jason and I take him and if it wouldn't have been a 20 minute wait, he would have made us go more than one time each!

Legos!

In Downtown Disney they have a Lego store and you would have thought Jaxon had died and gone to heaven! He had so much fun playing with the legos and Jason felt so bad that he had to sit there and play legos with Jaxon, such a kid a heart!

More Disneyland Pictures!

Right as you come off the Buzz Lightyear ride, you can go right into a store, so every time we got off the ride, Jaxon would be sure we went through the store and he would have to look at all of the stuff for a while. Well, the second or third day we were there, we decided we would buy him whatever he wanted from that store. For a long time he held that Woody doll and that was what he wanted, then he saw a Buzz Lightyear cell phone and decided he wanted that instead, so we thought, ok we'll try again later. Well, the last day we were there, we took him into the store and asked him what he wanted, he wanted a stupid ball that lights up and makes noise when it bounces, mind you we have one just like it at home! So, I talk to Jaxon for about five minutes making sure that's what he wants. I explain that if we get the ball, we will have two and home and Woody and Jessie are going to live at Disneyland and won't come home with us...guess what he picks...you got it the stupid ball! I guess spending $9 on a phone and a ball is better then spending $25 on a Woody or Jessie doll!
Brynn's favorite thing to do while at Disneyland was to chew on straws. She got really mad when we would eat and she didn't get anything, so we would give her a straw to chew and and she was happy as could be!
I thought the picture of her in the stroller is so cute because she has her legs up and is just realxin!

Disneyland!

Here are some more pictures of our Disneyland trip. This picture was actually our third time seeing Lightning McQeen and Mater in about 5 minutes. The first time, Jaxon was scared to death and wanted nothing to do with them. The second time, when the picture was taken, he actually touched Lightning and the third time, he almost go the courage up to touch Mater! Where did this kid come from?!
Jaxon loved the carousel. We went on four times in a row. All he wanted to do was to ride the horses. Luckily, we convinced him to get off so we could ride on Dumbo. He liked that too, of course, Brynn slept through Dumbo.

Jaxon's favorite ride was by far Buzz Lightyear. We were at Disneyland for five days and went on that ride at least 30 times, no joke. It's a good thing Jason really likes that ride too! But I think his next favorite ride was Autopia. He didn't really want to steer, so the car would just shake like crazy until Jason or I took the wheel. It was really fun!

This picture is on Heimlich's (sp?) Chew-Chew train. I think it might be the shortest ride in California Adventure, but it is cute and Jaxon liked it!

Trick-or-treating at Disneyland

We finally made it! What a long drive!

We're ready to go, we're not tired at all! Let's go get some candy!

Ok, I think I might be a little tired now, but I can make it...maybe!

We took a trip to Disneyland in October. We had so much fun! This was Jaxon's third trip to Disneyland and Brynn's first. It was the first trip Jaxon was really into, he loved it! The first night we got there we went trick-or-treating at California Adventure. It was so much fun! They set up little treat stations throughout the park and you could go around and get candy (no exageration, we got about 10 pounds of candy, don't worry, we didn't eat it all, we gave it away to trick-or-treaters at our house!), they had characters all over (Jaxon was pretty freaked out by the characters though, so we steered clear from them for the most part!), they had three different stages throughout the park where they had music and dancing, you could ride all the ride, and they had a really fun parade to top it off. The kids didn't quite make it to see the parade, but Jaxon gave it his best effort, but he was exhausted! We had so much fun trick-or-treating at the happiest place on earth!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins for Family Home Evening one night and Jaxon was so excited. We got a pumpkin carving kit earlier in the day and all day he kept saying that he wanted to carve "punkins" so I kept telling him when Daddy got home we would. Well, as soon as Jason walked through the door, Jaxon ran up to him and told him he needed to carve pumpkins. Jason tried to tell him we had to eat dinner first, but Jaxon didn't care, he wanted to carve pumpkins NOW! He was driving us crazy and Jason looked at me and said, "He doesn't even know what carving pumpkins is, we could tell him that hitting a pumpkin with a spoon is carving it and he would beleive us!"
Well, I had to run something to the neighbors house and I come back and Jaxon is at the table drawing on the pumpkin with a marker and hitting it with a spoon. I looked and Jason and asked what he was doing and Jason said, "He's carving the pumpkin." Jason had told him that carving the pumpkin was hitting it with a spoon! I laughed so hard! Eventually we got around to really carving pumpkins and Jaxon loved it. He didn't however, like getting the yucky stuff out from the inside, that was his least favorite part, but he still did it!

Autumn Leaves!

We went up Big Cottonwood Canyon one Sunday afternoon with our neighbors, Joseph, Cami and Lily and went on a little hike (ok it was more like a little walk, but there was one hill involved!). Jaxon had a great time throwing rocks into the water, he could have stayed there all day if we would have let him. Brynn liked it at first, but I think she got a little cold after a while. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to be able to look at all of the beatiful things Heavenly Father as given to us!

Picking Pumpkins

This is my favorite picture! The reason he's so excited is because we were going to Disneyland in about a week and half and we were always telling Jaxon we were going so he was super excited and his new favorite movie was Toy Story so all we had to ask him was, "who are we going to see at Disneyland?" and he would answer, "Buzz Lightyear!" that's why he was so excited in that picture. He also loved the tractors but was a little bummed that they didn't go. He wasn't very happy with me when I told them that I didn't have the keys so we couldn't go anywhere! The hard life of a two year old!
We tried to get some cute pictures of Jaxon and Brynn together, but Jaxon has decided that he doesn't like to smile for the camera (which is really fun, let me tell you!) so they didn't turn out as cute as I wanted, but that's ok.

There is a really fun pumpkin patch kind of by our house and we went there last year to pick pumpkins and we've decided to make it a tradition. So, we went this year for family home evening. Jaxon thought it was pretty cool. He made sure he found pumpkins that he could carry, that weren't too heavy for him.

A Day at the Zoo!

We went to the zoo with our neighbors Annelise and Danny, and Cami and Lily on October 3. It was so much fun! Jaxon loved looking at all of the animals and hearing them make noises and Brynn didn't really care about what was going on. The picture of Jaxon and I on the elephant trunk was not an easy one to get! All of the kids were scared to death of that silly elephant. Finally I convinced him that it wouldn't hurt him and we got that picture. We sat down to eat lunch and a peacock came and stole half of Jaxon's peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Jaxon wasn't very happy about it! He had to tell Daddy all about it when Dad came home that night!
