Picking Tomatoes 9/21/07

This year we got a plot at the community garden and one of Jaxon's favorite things to do is to go and pick the tomatoes. If we are going on a walk and have no intention of going to the garden, he will insist that we stop and see if there are any tomatoes to pick. He loves to pick them, but he loves eating them even more. I think two of his favorite foods are tomatoes and green peppers, weird I know!

Family Pictures

This year we decided to do family pictures outside and with my sisters family also. We thought Jaxon would be so good because last time we did pictures he was so good, but we forgot that was a year ago! It was quite the exprience, he was good for about five minutes and then he didn' want anything to do with pictures anymore, that's why in most of the pictures he has a grumpy face, but what can you do right! We thought they turned out ok, I don't think I would use the same girl again, but it was definately a learning experience! Brynn was pretty good, except for the fact that she wanted her hands in her mouth constantly, but we're pretty used to that! All in all, I think they turned out ok.

Brynn's four month checkup 9/11/07

I had to post a funny story about Brynn's four month check-up. So her appointment was on 9/11/07 so she was really 4 1/2 months, but that's just how it worked. Anyway, the doctor came in and examined her and everything and told me about the shots she would be getting and he told me we could give Jaxon a flu shot while we were there. I told him we would do it next time because I told Jaxon he wasn't getting a shot this time. So, the doctor leaves and I tell Jaxon that we will go as soon as Brynn gets her shots. Jaxon looks at me and tells me he wants a shot. I tell him that he can have a shot if he still wanted one after he saw Brynn get a shot.

So, the nurse comes in and gives Brynn her shots and she cries and everything and I ask Jaxon if he still wants a shot and he says yes. So, I tell the nurse to go ahead and get his flu shot ready. So, the nurse comes in about ten minutes later and Jaxon sits on the chair and she gives his the shot. He looks up at me and says, "Ouch! That hurts!" then asks for his sucker! No tears or anything! I thought it was pretty cute!

And by the way...Brynn is still just a little girl. At this appointment (4/12 months) she weighed 11 lbs 13 oz. She was in the 7th percentile for weight and 87th percentile for height! We're trying to fatten her up, but she's not working with us. As of now (Oct 1) she is still in 0-3 month clothes and size one diapers and she's five months old!

First Foods

This was Brynn's first attempt at solid foods. She wasn't too sure of the whole situation. The hardest part of feeding her was (and still is), trying to keep her hands out of her mouth while she is eating, it drives me crazy and makes for a very messy baby! She is getting a little bit better though!

Running in the Rain! 8/26/07

On this warm summer day, there was an evening rain that started falling. Jaxon wanted to go outside and play and I thought, why not? So, Jason and I took turns running around the green court with him. We ran with him until the rain stopped then we told him it wasn't raining anymore and he looked at us and said, "Turn the rain on!" He just didn't understand that we couldn't turn the rain back on...what a cute little kid!

The exersaucer!

My sister let us borrow this awesome excersaucer from her and Brynn loves it! This is the first time I put her in it and she is only about four months old in the picture, but she absolutely loves playing in it! Mom loves it too! As you can see...Jaxon thinks it's great also, little stinker! He thinks it's fun to sit in it and play, but I think that's just because we tell him not to...isn't that how it usually goes? By the way...this is not the only dress Brynn owns...I was looking at all of the pictures I have posted and most of them are of her in this dress. I guess I just think about taking her picture when she is in this dress because she is so cute in it!

County Fair

We went the the county fair in South Jordan on August 15th. Jaxon had a great time looking at all the animals. He was a little intimitated by the big animals, but when we found the petting zoo, he thought that was pretty cool. We bought some food the feed the goats and they totally swarmed him, he was a little overwhelmed, hence the picture of him grabbing onto Jason's legs. After a while though, he thought it was pretty cool, but it was just as we ran out of food and those darn goats didn't want anything to do with us! We had to take a picture of Brynn and myself so that she wouldn't feel left out!

Cool Girl!

Brynn loves her sunglasses most of the time. She is just like her big brother! I don't even know if these glasses do a whole lot of good at keeping the sun out, but she sure looks cute! The reason I took these pictures inside was because I didn't have my camera when we were on out walk outside and I wanted some pictures of her with her glasses on. Isn't she sweet!

Laketown Derby

We went to the Laketown derby on August 11, 2007. Jason's family has a cabin in Laketown, so it's kind of a tradition. We were a little worried about how Jaxon would react because normally he hates loud noises (he makes me hold him when he hears the garbage can...his Dad loved garbage trucks and he hates them, go figure!) but he did really well. He really liked it. He liked to watch the cars CRASH! Brynn did pretty good too, she didn't really know what the heck was going on!

We have a thumb sucker!

Despite our best efforts, our adorable little girl has decided to be a thumb sucker. She likes to be swaddled, but she can get her hand out in the amount of time it takes us to leave the room and it goes straight into her mouth! We fought it for a long time, but we can't do anything else about it. Luckily she only does it when she sleeps, so hopefully she'll grow out of it! She's so darn cute!

Swimming 7/28/07

We went swimming with Emily and Chad Duke and Chad's in-laws house. It was Brynn's first time swimming and she thought it was great, we just let her sit on the step and splash, but she loved it. Don't you love the swimming suite? Grandma Greensides got that for her and I'm glad she got a chance to wear it before it got too cold and before they closed the pools to kids in diapers :( Jaxon had a great time too. He had fun playing with Daddy and he had fun floating with Andalyn too! Thanks Emily and Chad for inviting us!

Update on the Greensides Family!

Hello all! I saw so many people doing these blogs that I thought it would be fun to do one for our family. I am still playing around with it and trying to figure everything out, but I'm catching on slowly, just don't expect anything too spectacular! Please feel free to leave as many comments as you want, I love to hear from everybody!

Well, just a quick update on our family. We are currently living in Daybreak in South Jordan and we are loving it! We love everything from our great neighbors to the fun trails to walk along to the Lake just a five minute walk away. It is just a great place to live. We moved here thinking we would be here a couple of years, but now I don't know if you could get us to leave, we love it so much. We have been in this house for about a year and before that we lived in Salt Lake for about a year and a half. We have two wonderful kids, Jaxon who is two and Brynn who is almost three months. They keep me busy all the time, but I love it! I am going to attempt to post some pictures now so you can actually see our cute little family.

Jaxon's 2nd Birthday

Jaxon turned 2 on July 8th. About a week before his birthday, I heard him in his room singing "Happy Birthday to You". It was so cute, he must have learned it in Nursery. So when Jason and I burst into his room the morning of his birthday and started singing, he wasn't quite sure what to think. At first I think he thought we were crazy, but then he thought it was pretty cool once he saw all the fun decorations we had put up and especially the balloons! We had a small party with family and friends and he got very spoiled, as usual! We let him pick out his cake all by himself and despite my efforts he picked the Cars cake (the same exact cake as he had last year!). He had so many things to play with he wasn't sure what to start with. He loves his golf clubs and insisted that we took them with us when we went to St. George to visit Grandma & Grandpa a couple of days after his birthday. At least once a day I get to play golf with him. He loved all of his presents and can't play with them enough!

4th of July

On the 4th of July, Jason really wanted to take Jaxon golfing, but it was so hot that he didn't want to go outside, so we decided to go miniature golfing at Hollywood Connection. It was great! Jaxon had a great time miniature golfing. He would get a little frustrated that he didn't get his ball in the hole, so he would pick it up, put it right next to the hole and tap it in. I think this kids got the game figured out! They also had a couple of fun rides there for Jaxon to ride. He loved the carousel and wanted to ride it over and over again. Brynn wasn't too impressed...she slept the whole time, but I was fine with that. Later that night we had a bar-b-que with our neighbors. We had a great time!

Thanksgiving Point Petting Zoo 6/25/07

We went to the Thanksgiving Point petting zoo with some of our neighbors on June 25. Jaxon had a great time. He loved looking at the animals and was fine with most of them, but didn't like it when the big horses came close to him, but he was fine with the ponies. He loved his pony ride and would have stayed on all day if he could. We took him last year and he cried the whole time he was on the pony, so I think he liked it better this time.

Daybreak Luau 6/16/07

Daybreak had a luau on 6/16/07 so we walked down to the school with a few of neighbors and had dinner and listened to music and watched some great entertainment. Jaxon thought it was great that he could just run around all he wanted. These are pictures of us at the luau. Jaxon with his friend Halle, Jason, Kendra and Brynn (Jaxon chose not to be in this picture!) and Jason with his fun ball! We had a great time.

Bear Lake 5/19/07

We went to Jasons family's cabin up in Bear Lake with our neighbors Joseph, Cami, and Lily Humpherys and our friends Steve, Chelsea, and Conner Jolley. We had a great time. Jaxon and Conner are only a month apart and they look like they could almost be twins! Then we realized they had the same PJ's so we took their picture together because they look so much alike. We went to the lake one day not planning on swimming, totally unprepared, but the kids decided that they wanted to play in the water, so they did. Eventually all the kids were totally naked playing in the water and sand and Jaxon was fishing of course. They also kayaked a little bit too. They had a great time despite the fact that it was a little cold, we didn't have any swim diapers or towels, I guess we learned our lesson! We had a great time hanging out with our friends and Jaxon had a great time playing with his friends.
