We're Back!

Well, we got back from our awesome vacation yesterday. It was actually kind of nice to be home, even though we had a ton of fun! We left on Friday the 7th and headed to St. George. We spent a couple of days there relaxing, shopping, and spending time with my parents and sister. On Sunday My parents, two nieces, and our little family started our drive to Disneyland!

We got to Disneyland on Sunday afternoon and headed to Disneyland and were there until about noon on Thursday. We had such a great time! Jaxon had so much fun. He loved riding all of the rides, meeting all of the characters (this time he wasn't scared of them at all, when we went in October he was a little leery of all of them), eating all of the treats Grandma and Grandpa bought for him, and spending time with his Grandma, Grandpa, and cousins.

I have to share this funny story. We measured Jaxon before we left and he was about 38 1/2 inches tall. Well, there are quite a few rides at Disneyland and California Adventure that have height requirements of 40" or taller. So, Jason had this great idea to try to find shoes with thick soles to make him taller. So, we went to Payless and found some hiking boots that gave him some more height and then we bought some insoles to put in the shoes as well. We thought for sure he would be tall enough. Well, either our tape measure was off or Disneyland's was because he was still too short. But don't worry, Jason stuck some napkins in his boots and after that he was good to go. We had to carry him onto the rides because he couldn't walk in his shoes because they were so uncomfortable. Now mind you, we didn't take him on any of the rides like Space Mountain or Tower of Terror that would have scared the crud out of him, we took him on Soarin' Over California, Matterhorn, Splash Mountain (his favorite), and Space Tours. He had so much fun going on all of these rides, I was so glad that Jason is so inventive and had such a good idea!

Like I said, we headed back for St. George on Thursday afternoon and got there at about 8:00 pm. The next day we went swimming and just relaxed. We left St. George on Sunday morning at about 10:30. The weather was not so good! It was spitting snow in St. George when we left so we knew we were in for a fun drive! After we had a Jeep loose control in front of us and almost hit us, we were a little freaked out, but had to drive another 60 miles until we got to Fillmore. At that point the weather was getting better and we had clear roads most of the way home. We stopped off at Jason's parents' house to pick up our dog and visit for a minute then we were home!

We all had a great time, even though I think it will probably take my parents a couple of weeks to recuperate! We can't wait to go back! I will try to get some pictures posted tomorrow, but I can't promise anything!

Leave it to Jason to figure a way to make Jaxon a couple inches taller!! What a funny story, and one you willnever forget. Sounds like you had fun.

I think I remember Stephanie doing the shoes thing with Spencer right before he hit the 40 inch mark... Hiking books and I think we still had to stuff his shoes... I think they used credit cards if i remember right or something like that... It is now officially a family tradition. I am so jealous December is so far away...go now all you can because once the kids get into school the State only gives you 5 days to take them out before they start to get on your back. *sigh* so December it is and so I Waite. Cant Waite to see some photos but take your time you just got home. I am getting ready to start on Breann's first Disneyland trip... so i will share when i am done. We will have to get together and chat.
